As much as I love animals, I’m calling Punxsutawney Phil out! He predicted an early spring and it snowed yesterday!! Yes, some may argue that I shouldn’t take my weather cues from a groundhog. But rather than defend my whimsical nature, I’ll simply share a lovely piece I found in my “Happy Thoughts” folder. Once again I have no idea who wrote it or where I found it, but this time Google was no help. Enjoy!
A Prayer for March
Sometimes this month upsets me
Because it is a time that’s in between.
It means change.
We’re teased by warm breezes
With the hope of Spring,
Only to be sent scurrying back to the past
By a Winter storm.
Today my life seems like
A day in March.
Changing, unsettled
Trying to move forward before
Shaking loose the past.
During this restless time,
Send me Your strength on the
Warm winds of Hope
That despite sudden storms I can
Focus on the new life of
Your promised Spring.
Life can definitely seem like a day in March. The beauty of the Happy Calories Don’t Count paradigm is that it not only allows for change, it expects it. We change every second of every day. We change physically with each breath we take. Millions of cells in our body die, and millions more are born. We change with every thought we think and every emotion we feel. By embracing this change, we learn to dance with Life, knowing that our goal is to simply, moment by moment, do the best we can to align our thoughts, feelings and actions. Then, we can enjoy Life. And with weight-loss that is no small matter. In fact, the only way to really create and maintain the bodies we desire is to remember that the journey is the destination.
