To Eat Or Not To Eat (It Really Doesn’t Matter)

What do you do when you’re at a party, they serve cake, you like cake, you want cake, but…
it’s not on your diet, it’s full of sugar, it’s high carb, or you think it’s bad for you or not “worth” the calories?
At this point, it doesn’t matter if you eat the cake or not – neither action will benefit you. Eating the cake will not serve you and not eating the cake will lead to the experience of “I just look at a piece of cake and I gain weight.”
This episode shares techniques and tools to help you reconcile yourself so that whether you eat the cake – or not – both experiences can contribute to your highest health, vitality, well-being, beauty and joy – so that you really can “have your cake and eat it too!”
Forget The Fear & Find Freedom From Food

Whether it is controlling your body and your weight through the cultural, conventional “diet and exercise” model or trying to use the Law of Attraction to manifest your dreams, what is your real motivation?
I submit that it is ultimately happiness. You only want whatever it you want because you think having it will make you happy. This is important because if the experience of creating – or maintaining – your desire is in anyway unhappy, you cannot achieve that which you ultimately desire.
Creating peace and happiness can be especially challenging when motivated by fear. Fear and trauma lead to a desire to control – control yourself, control others, control outcomes.
This episode illustrates how true the words of the wise Franklin D. Roosevelt really are: There Is Nothing To Fear But Fear Itself. By deconstructing spiritual and psychological principles relating to fear and manifestation, this episode offers a perspective to lead you out of fear and into creating peace and freedom and a body you love.
Constructing Reality vs Creating Reality

In today’s world you need a special set of media and marketing literacy tools to navigate the strategic assaults on your self-esteem and body image. In the tech area, “reality” is being constructed by algorithms. Internet searches and social media recommendations are based on what algorithms conclude is true about you (which may not be the case). This limits the perspective you experience of the world, therefore shaping your perceptions and “reality.”
This constructed reality is a completely different issue that the idea of “creating your reality.”
This episode illustrates how tech influences manufacture your “reality” and deconstructs the metaphysical principles of “creating your reality” in a practical, tangible way.
Louise Hay in Diet Drama Land?

Louise Hay is sort of the “grandmother” of the current self-help world. She taught us that we could heal our bodies and our selves by harnessing the power of our thoughts. She taught us that our bodies responded to affirmations. She taught us to say affirmations such as “I love myself just the way I am” and that it was even better if we did that while looking in a mirror.
I have spoken extensively on my love/hate relationship with Louise Hay. I have nothing but love and respect for the woman. During a dark time in my life, I wrote her a letter – and she wrote me back!
However, affirmations are not “magic.” Affirmations are not about “reprogramming your unconscious.” Affirmations are tools to help you feel better in the present moment.
This episode deconstructs one particular affirmation and demonstrates how even the Queen of Self-Help fundamentally still operates from within the context of Diet Drama Land.
Your Pain Is Not Your Fault – Your Healing Is Your Responsibility

Your weight is not your fault. It’s not to your credit either.
Your pain is not your fault. But your healing is your responsibility.
An important episode for anyone struggling with food, exercise, weight or body image issues – whether you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder or not.
Discover the two parts to an eating disorder and why this makes them so difficult to truly overcome and put to bed.
Learn how certain mindsets keep you stuck in “recovery” when true freedom begins when you have “recovered.”
What You Need To Hear To Heal Your Body Drama

What do you really need to hear to heal your pain, shame, and drama around food, exercise your body and your weight?
Is it the latest celebrity diet? You know that’s not true.
Is it the hottest new calorie busting workout? Nope – you’ve been down that road too.
Is it a “secret to manifestation” or a legitimate spiritual truth? Well – how do you apply it?
What YOU need to hear is based on your own journey – what you’ve learned, what you’ve experienced, what you know to be true for you.
The words might be different – but the message is always the same: Take three deep breaths. Get centered. Get grounded. Connect with yourself. Connect with your body – and you will “hear” the answer.
Acceptance vs Resignation & Defeat

Why is it so hard to come to a place of peace and acceptance around your body and your weight?
This episode illustrates how the concept of acceptance differs significantly between two distinct models of weight loss and well-being.
In “Diet Drama Land” acceptance means defeat – you will never achieve your goals.
In “Happy Calories® World” acceptance is the key to freedom. Acceptance not only brings a deep sense of peace – it also paradoxically turbo charges your results.
Culture Wars: Diet Culture vs Recovery Culture

In the “Diet Culture” vs “Recovery Culture” war everyone loses.
This episode discusses what the medical community overlooks when trying to address eating disorders. The resulting “recovery culture” can be just as toxic and deadly as “diet culture” itself.
Join me in a conversation about how BOTH “cultures” are healed through the lens of the Happy Calories Don’t Count® model.
Toxic Body Positivity

Is “Body Positivity” really a good thing?
Join me in a discussion of how many of the conversations around “body positivity” really do nothing to help women heal and transform their relationships to their bodies and themselves.
Learn what you do – and not do – to improve your sense of self, optimize your physical results and develop authentic body positivity.
Hint: It has nothing to do with “loving your body” or yourself!
The “Price” of Your Ideal Body

What price would you be willing to pay to get the body of your dreams?
This is an honest question – one that I would really like you to consider.
Are you thinking in terms of time and money – to go to the gym, to hire personal trainers, to shop for organic groceries and prepare “healthy” meals? Are you thinking in terms of surgical – and non-surgical solutions? Are you thinking in terms of personal and spiritual growth?
Do you think all of this is silly, vain and a waste of time and that we – as women – should be more concerned about other “more important” things?
Your body is the vehicle through which you experience this life. Therefore, how you feel in your body and how you feel about your body directly impacts the quality of your life.
So join me in a discussion of what it will really “cost” you to create a body and life you love.
